OUR VISION

The Justice Reform is answering the cry for justice by bringing reformation from city to city.

We do this by “putting on the crown and picking up the torch.” The crown of identity we put on as God’s sons and daughters, and the torch of revival we pick up to bring light to dark places. If our God is a God of righteousness and justice, his people should be a people of righteousness and justice. We are calling all churches, organizations, businesses, minds, and hearts together to answer the cry. As the body of Christ, we can do so much more together!

We seek to be a voice for the voiceless, bring hope to the hopeless, and light into the darkness.

OUR LEADERSHIP

Heather Schott, Founder

Heather Schott is the founder and Lead Reformer of The Justice Reform, as well as Lead Pastor at Mercy Culture Church. The battle cry of her heart is for justice and to help bring freedom to the captives and new life to those in bondage. She has partnered with anti-human trafficking organizations in Texas to bring reformation from city to city, by starting in our own backyard.

The vision of The Justice Reform first came to her while running and praying 10 years ago. Heather heard the Lord ask her, “What would it take to keep you running no matter what?” She immediately knew it would be to see the captives set free. This moment has been the driving catalyst behind the founding of our organization and our annual Justice Run.

The Justice Reform is a housed-vision of Mercy Culture Church.

This means that our vision is submitted under the covering of Mercy Culture leadership. We are governed with the same heart and values as Mercy Culture and are represented by the leadership of Mercy Culture.

OUR VALUES

Health

LEADERS GO FIRST
We remain healthy by prioritizing daily personal encounters with God, pursuing purity, putting family first, and protecting our sabbath so we can lead others in health. Matthew 6:33, Proverbs 3:5-8

Forgiveness

IT’S NOT AN OPTION
We love mercy, so we show mercy. Forgiveness is for you, not for them. There is no spiritual growth without forgiveness. Ephesians 4:32, Matthew 6:14-15, Colossians 3:13

Authenticity

WE DON’T DO FAKE
We disciple through real relationships. We create an atmosphere for people to be open and honest by leading in vulnerability and transparency. 2 Corinthians 11:27-30, 2 Corinthians 12:9

Trust

LEAN INTO AWKWARD
We build the trust, character, and relationships of tomorrow by engaging in the tough conversations today. Matthew 18:15-20, Matthew 5:24

Excellence

GIVE YOUR ALL
We represent the Lord by doing the best we can with what we have. Colossians 3:23-24, Daniel 6:3, Exodus 31:1-11

Generosity

NO STRINGS ATTACHED
We don’t give to get. We give our time, treasure, and talents from a heart of love with pure motives. Acts 20:35, 1 Timothy 6:18-19, 2 Corinthians 9:7, Romans 13:8

Communication

“DOWN-SHIFT”
We choose to slow down and communicate clearly today, so that we can move forward faster tomorrow. Romans 14:19, James 1:19

Empowerment

OUR HEART, YOUR MIND
We empower those with our heart to lead with their mind. We trade empowerment for teachability and humility. Exodus 18:13-26, James 4:10, Psalm 25:9

Feedback

HEAR-HEAR
We believe healthy feedback is a 2 way street. We welcome opportunities to hear what is in your heart, and we commit to clarifying what is in ours. Proverbs 1:5, Proverbs 19:20, James 1:19

Celebration

PUT IT ON THE BOARD
If you’re not having fun, you’re doing it wrong! We make time to celebrate the little wins that create a big victory. Romans 15:5-7, 1 Thessalonians 5:16, Hebrews 10:24-25

Honor

GOVERNED BY HONOR
Honor reflects Heaven's value. Honor protects freedom, creates safe places, and reflects a Kingdom identity. Honor is about self-control not control. 1 Samuel 2:30, Romans 12:10, 1 Peter 2:17, Matthew 4:1-11, Isaiah 29:13, Mark 6:1-6, Proverbs 3:9-10

Holiness

COME IN
We simply want to be like Jesus—holy, set apart unto God, and fully surrendered to the Refiner’s fire. We know the closer we get to Him, the more we become like Him. Holiness is found in the presence of God. Our heart’s cry is this: “Make me like You, Jesus! Make me holy!” Romans 6:19, 1 Peter 1:15-16, Hebrews 12:14, Revelations 4:8, 2 Timothy 1:9, 1 Thessalonians 4:3-8

Stewardship

THE THIRD OPTION
We manage Heaven’s resources for the Father’s business. The heart’s cry of a good steward is, “It will never be mine; it will always be Yours!” When given the choice between an ownership or employment mentality, we choose the third option— stewardship. Matthew 25:14-30, 1 Kings 3:16-28, Psalms 24:1

OUR UNIQUE CHARACTERISTICS

We are a presence-driven organization

We are not built around any person or ministry. We are built around the presence of God.

We put people first

We prioritize relationship over ministry.

We House Vision

Our heart is to partner with the ministries and visions God has given you. We believe that God has given a vision that reaches beyond the walls of our organization. Our heart is to support, cover and birth the vision that God has entrusted to members of this organization through relationship and a heart posture of submission.

We empower women in ministry

We endorse and promote women in ministry. We empower women to fulfill the call of God on their lives.

We love Israel

We celebrate and embrace Jewish culture and the God of Israel.

OUR LEADERSHIP STANDARDS

Daily Encounters

We engage the Lord through daily personal encounters by welcoming the Holy Spirit, asking the Lord to speak to us, praying the Lord’s Prayer, and listening for His response.

Forgiveness

We exercise forgiveness at all costs by asking for God’s forgiveness, forgiving ourselves and forgiving others. We believe there is no spiritual growth without forgiveness.

Sabbath

We honor the Sabbath and keep it Holy by stewarding our time according to God’s teachings, balancing productivity with a commitment to take time away and recover in order to not risk our health, well-being and effectiveness for the kingdom.

Tithe

We tithe and steward what God has given us. We honor God with our finances by tithing faithfully to our local church and stewarding all the Lord has given to us and our families.

Unity

We protect the unity of our organization by acting in love toward other members, refusing to gossip, and by submitting to leadership.
